Younger Americans are feeling the pinch from inflation, with 54% saying that rising food costs have hit them the hardest. When asked where in their budget inflation affected them the most, respondents choose food by a significant margin:Food: 54%54% Rent: 22%22% Discretionary spending: 10%10% Health care: 6%6% Utilities: 5%Overall inflation has cooled off since its 9.1% year-over-year peak in June 2022, but it continues to rise at a 3.5% year-over-year pace as of March, according to the most recent data available from the consumer price index, which tracks the price of goods and services over time. Higher borrowing costs are another factor leading to younger people feeling strained, as the average credit card balance for Gen Z and millennials increased 62% and 50%, respectively, between March 2022 and February 2024, according to a recent Intuit Credit Karma survey.

Ho also said she's seen new knockoffs popping up now that Swift has been seen wearing the original. But in the meantime, she said, Swift wearing the original feels like the "ultimate karma" against shops that have stolen her work — something Swift herself is deeply familiar with.

The lack of available care for sociopaths inspired Gagne to pursue a PhD in psychology, where she specialized in the relationship between sociopathy and anxiety. With a head covered in rows of curved spines, ancient Selkirkia worms could easily be confused with the razor-toothed sandworms that inhabit the deserts of Arrakis in “Dune: Part Two.”During the Cambrian Explosion more than 500 million years ago, these weird worms — which lived inside long, cone-shaped tubes — were some of the most common predators on the seafloor. “If you were a small invertebrate coming across them, it would have been your worst nightmare,” said Karma Nanglu, a paleontologist at Harvard. “It’s like being engulfed by a conveyor belt of fangs and teeth.”Thankfully for would-be spice harvesters, these ravenous worms disappeared hundreds of million years ago. But a trove of recently analyzed fossils from Morocco reveals that these formidable predators measuring only an inch or two in length, persisted much longer than previously thought.

"Money dysmorphia is kind of like today's version of keeping up with the Joneses," said Courtney Alev, consumer financial advocate at Credit Karma. Not surprisingly, money dysmorphia is even more prevalent among younger generations, according to Credit Karma. EV maker Fisker says it may go out of business

New York CNN —Fisker, the electric vehicle company founded by auto designer Henrik Fisker, announced in its fourth quarter earnings Thursday that it might not have enough money to survive another year. The company is in discussions with an existing investor about possibly putting more money into the company, the EV maker said in its announcement. Last year, Magna produced more than 10,193 Fisker SUVs, but fewer than half of those were delivered to customers within the calendar year, the company announced. Fisker is founder Henrik Fisker’s second car company. His first, Fisker Automotive, produced a plug-in hybrid luxury car called the Fisker Karma.

The IPO direct share program will be open to adult US Reddit users with accounts created on or before January 1, 2024, who are not current or former Reddit employees. Reddit has not yet set the price at which shares will be listed in its IPO. Reddit is set to be the first major social media company to IPO in years. While somewhat unusual, offering users the opportunity to invest in its IPO makes sense for Reddit, a platform with a community of users famously — some might say infamously — interested in investing. “As with any investment opportunity, you should make an individual decision based on your own personal circumstances and risk tolerance,” Reddit said in an email inviting eligible users to participate in the IPO.

What It’s Like to Be a Sociopath

Photo illustration by Bráulio Amado Talk What It’s Like to Be a SociopathSociopaths are modern-day boogeymen, and the word “sociopath” is casually tossed around to describe the worst, most amoral among us. Gagne wrote “Sociopath,” her buzzy forthcoming memoir, to try to correct some of those misunderstandings and provide a fuller picture of sociopathy, which is now more frequently referred to as antisocial personality disorder. Just because I don’t care about someone else’s pain, so to speak, doesn’t mean I want to cause more of it. I’m not sure neurotypicals need any, because I have been identifying as a sociopath for years now, and my experience with people who don’t know that has been positive. That is what the sociopath experience is almost all the time.
